If you have looked through some of the projects on our site, you've likely noticed that we have a flower fetish that runs quite deep. Over the course of this project we expanded that fetish to include Wild Oats and Soybeans. Each of the plants featured is an ingredient in Aveeno's products. True to form, every solitary leaf hair and pollen grain was placed with utmost respect and a desire for absolute fidelity to its real life counterpart. Although each plant presented a unique challenge, the feverfew flower was especially difficult to reproduce.
This CG slipper orchid was originally intended to be part of an experimental short film called 'Drip' in which the Orchid was to wilt and crumble in time lapse. The project was shelved, but we were able to animate and comp these two scenes and use them as a showcase for photoreal botanical animation.
