After several years, we still aren't sure exactly what Pemmikan is. Our friend, sound designer John Black has a black metal side-project called 'United Cutlery'. He had written this deafeningly strong track and we thought it would be a good candidate for sound-driven animation. There was no C4D mograph at the time, but luckily a guy named 'Darf' had written a set of tools that we were able to use to keyframe primitive cubes procedurally to the audio. The colour in the cubes comes from an image of some sausages (referencing the title) on a styrofoam tray. The word itself comes from a nutritious mix of fat and protein used as food: Pemmikan on Wikipedia
We liked the results and shared it with the world. To our utter surprise, Pemmikan went on to be included in Resfest and onedotzero's Art of the Music Video DVD.
